Using the Learning Hub
The Learning Hub is the place where you can complete modules developed by The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation.
It contains online courses that you can complete, either prior to or after a face to face course, or just as an online course.
All existing courses are available at no cost, although some future courses may attract a cost.
To view all courses – please click on the ‘Courses’ section above.
Modules should form part of a blended approach to learning, taking into account the benefits of acknowledging prior learning as well as the benefits from learning with colleagues face to face.
You will also notice that there are a number of other courses available to you, either as general knowledge or for specific users. All users should complete the ‘Using the Award Community and Learning Hub‘ module. The National Award Operator Guide and NAO Licence Review modules are password protected for the use by relevant national operator staff.
The Course Support group within the community area of the hub provides an FAQ and Help section. The Support ticket system also provides a way for you to get answers to any questions you may have.
You can view the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award courses by scrolling through the list of all modules or from the course categories (see below).

Online and onsite modules
Online courses can be taken entirely online in the Learning Hub. Onsite courses are held in various training locations around the world and may combine some online course materials with an onsite training period; this supports the Foundation approach to supporting blended learning.
Video and image resolution
In the courses, such as the ORB (Online Record Book) training, where you may need to have a higher resolution image than the one on your page you can simply click the image. It will open at full size in a new window. For videos there is normally an option in the video play area to view at full screen size. Close the window to return to your original page.
