All adults in the Award can benefit from the information provided in this course. It is free and available to all who have access to the Award Community.

This course must be renewed by adults in the Award every three years. Its content is updated biannually with the latest Award information.

As you progress through the course, you may pause, and your work will be saved.

Following this course, you will:

  • Understand the history, philosophy, and Guiding Principles of the Award and how they apply to delivering the Award in your Award Centre.
  • Understand how the Award reflects the principles of non-formal education and learning.
  • Understand how mentoring is used to effectively deliver the Award.
  • Understand the Award framework across the world and how adults work within it.
  • Understand sections of the Award, their aims, ethos, and requirements.
  • Understand what safeguarding is and the important details of safeguarding in the context of the Award.
  • Understand how to promote and celebrate the Award within your Award Centre.
  • Understand how to obtain resources to support the delivery of the Award.

The entire course should take about two hours to complete.
