All adults in the Award can benefit from the information provided in this course. It is free and available to all who have access to the Award Community.
This course must be renewed by adults in the Award every three years. Its content is updated on a regular basis with the latest Award information.
As you progress through the course, you may pause after the end of any section and your work will be saved. If you have not fully completed a section, you must redo the entire section if you exit the course or log out.
Following this course you will:
- Understand the history, philosophy and Guiding Principles of the Award and how they apply to delivering the Award in your Award Centre.
- Understand the Award framework and how adults work within it.
- Understand non-formal education and learning (NFEL) and of the skills, awareness and theories required to effectively deliver the Award.
- Understand sections of the Award, their aims and requirements.
- Understand what safeguarding is and the important details of safeguarding.
- Understand how to promote and celebrate the Award within your Award Centre and how to obtain resources to help deliver the Award.
The entire course should take about two hours to complete.
